A spokesperson from Kim Soo Hyun's agency Key East Entertainment said on April 10 in an interview, "Kim Soo Hyun was not even at the stage to read the movie scenario and review, but first and foremost he did not know there were these complications regarding the role. He said he would not pursue the role, and we let C J Entertainment know."

The production team of the movie "Kwon Bob" is in a complicated situation. The production team had much of controversies when it was found out that the team had contacted actor Kim Soo Hyun after signing a contract with actor Yeo Jin Goo in February. The production team abolished the contract with Yeo Jin Goo on April 10.
