Pokemon has definitely come a long way, starting with only 151 Pokemons that caught the world by storm, now the total Pokemon count is an astounding 719! That is a testament of how successful the Pokemon franchise has become over the years.

The first evolutions that were introduced was by leveling-up, trading and using an elemental stone to evolve certain Pokemons. Now, there are more means of evolution such as friendship, being trained in a certain area, knowing a certain move, at certain time (day or night), when holding an item,

Pokemon is now being seen in a totally different light thanks to the 6th gen Pokemon game, Pokemon X&Y.

The Digimon series has also influenced the game as it brought with it mega-evolutions and many of the starter Pokemon were able to evolve.

We have seen a video posted online which gave us an idea of the Pokemon universe and this is Pokemon XY: Mega Evolution Act 1. The video was shown in Japan and shows off the evolutions that are making their way to the game.

In total it reveals six new Pokemon, these have the names of Mega Venasaur, Charizard, Blastoise, Aggron, Absol and Garchomp. The video runs for a total of 30 minutes and was released on 3 April. It goes on to show us what Alan can do when defeating the mega Pokemon.

At the moment the Pokemon franchise isn't able to do anything wrong and so the video should be welcomed with open arms.
