After many setbacks in the development of the game, Evolutions Studios brand new racing simulator Driveclub finally has an official release date, courtesy of a new game trailer. The game is set to be released on October 7 in North America, October 8 in Europe and October 10 in the United Kingdom for the PlayStation 4. It was addressed before in the Facebook page of the game that full details on the release date and the game itself will a confirmed soon, and Oh boy they delivered.
In other news, the PlayStation Plus Edition of Driveclub will also be available alongside the game itself. According to Eurogamers, PS Plus subscribers can now download the game with "no extra charge" during launch day of the game, Sony says to Eurogamers.
Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida made statement prior to the announcement of Driveclubs release date.
"We planned for the game to be ready for early 2014 and are committed to delivering on our ambitious promise of creating a truly innovative, socially connected racing game.
The problem with being ambitious is you have to be prepared to accept there will be challenges along the way. What DriveClub offers has not been previously achieved in this category and because of this, the team needed more time to give you the game you're waiting for.
Your anticipation for the title since my last update has been a huge source of motivation for the team at Evolution Studios, and I know they are all extremely grateful for your continued support."
PlayStation owners will look forward to seeing Driveclub can deliver and be an instance classic that will join racing game juggernauts Need For Speed, Grand Turismo, Ridge Racer and more once the game is release on October 2014.
