Have you ever wondered why Techland has suddenly dropped giving news regarding Dying light? It seems that they're hard at work working on Hellraid and if recent reports are to be believed, Hellraid and Dying Light release date has been delayed to 2015!
If you don't know what Hellraid is yet, imagine Dead Island - but set in a fantasy world with skeletons and demons and battleaxes instead of just guns and zombies. Okay, now you've got it. Well, Hellraid was actually developed on the Dead Island engine, but now that Techland have been spending so much time upgrading to a new engine for their upcoming game Dying Light (which is itself very pretty), they're just moving the whole show over there to make it as pretty as possible.
The news was revealed on the official Hellraid site, where it was also revealed that as a result the release date has changed: it will no longer be arriving in 2014 as planned but is instead delayed to 2015. Early Access versions will be available from Spring (Australian Spring, that is) of 2014, though.
A new trailer has also been released accompanying the news, which shows off the new game modes as well as just more minutes of meaty skeleton combat. Watch it below:
While the Hellraid release date has been delayed, Techland has been firm with their stance that the Dying Light release date is still for this year.
In a recent interview with OnlySP, Techland confirmed that they were committed to releasing the game this 2014 but were hesitant to give out a specific release date:
Bożena Rudyk told OnlySP that retailers initially "listed the game to come out March 31 and recently changed it for December 2014″, joking that "people just can't wait to learn about the release date." Rudyk clarified that, "We [Techland] never announced a specific release date, only year 2014 - and this is official."
However Techland said that the Dying Light release date will drop soon.
There are rumors that "Dying Light" will be released on May and some are even speculating on a Halloween season release by stating "leaked" release dates by retailers but it should be noted that retailers CANNOT confirm release dates, they can only speculate on them.
Fans should expect a "Dying Light" release date announcement at E3 2014 as reported by Cyberland PC.
