John Krasinski and Emily Blunt have spent $2.575 million for a walled compound in Hollywood Hills West according to the Los Angeles Times. The home was built in 1965 and sits on a third of an acre. It features a courtyard entry, stone patios, a lanai, a swimming pool and spa and a flat lawn. The house is 3,483 square feet of living space and has a media/family room, an office, four bedrooms and four bathrooms. The couple also own another home nearby, according to Trulia, and they own a getaway home in Ojai. The couple recently had a baby, daughter Hazel, earlier this year in February. After her birth, the actor/director tweeted the news, "Wanted to let the news out directly. Emily and I are so incredibly happy to welcome our daughter Hazel into the world today! Happy bday!" Krasinski began dating Blunt in 2008 and the couple married in Como, Italy on July 10, 2010.
In career news, Krasinski has lined up his next directorial effort "The Hollars." His first directorial feature was 2009′s "Brief Interviews with Hideous Men." "The Hollars" will star Anna Kendrick, Richard Jenkins, and Margo Martindale. Krasinski will also star in the lead as John Hollar, an aspiring NYC artist who takes his girlfriend (Kendrick) back to his Middle America hometown on the eve of his mother's (Martindale) brain surgery. Back at home, he's forced to navigate the crazy life he left behind, including the crazy people in it: his dysfunctional family, high school pals, his father (Jenkins), and his over-eager ex. It is described to be a mix of Steel Magnolias and Garden State according to Deadline
The film will be produced by Krasinski's Sunday Night banner; the script is writtened by James C. Strouse. Tom Rice and Ben Nearn are producing for Sycamore Pictures, which recently produced The Way Way Back and Begin Again.
