Matthew McConaughey is featured in director Christopher Nolan’s (Inception, The Dark Knight Trilogy) next big movie “Interstellar.” The Oscar winning actor is seen in the teaser for the film, which can be watched below. According to the official movie website, the movie’s plot is sumarrized as such: “In the future, governments and economies across the globe have collapsed, food is scarce, NASA is no more, and the 20th Century is to blame. A mysterious rip in spacetime opens and it's up to whatever is left of NASA to explore and offer up hope for mankind. Mainly based on the scientific theories and script treatment of renowned theoretical physicist, Kip Thorne.” According to Complex magazine, the movie will deal with outer space, wormholes, and as can be seen in the teaser, “Matthew McConaughey in a pickup truck.” The screenplay was written by Nolan and his brother Jonathan Nolan.
According to the Washington Post, a trailer for the movie premiered at the Smithsonian’s Air & Space Museum, where some lucky children were able to watch peeks of Nolan’s new film in their Lockheed Martin IMAX Theater. After a brief announcement, the trailer opens with Matthew McConaughey (playing a character named Cooper) driving his truck through corn fields. Later, the fields are shown having caught fire. An ominous dust cloud is looming over a baseball game, and McConaughey is reassuring his daughter that he loved her, right before he is shot into space to save the world.The new trailer will also be attached to the upcoming GODZILLA movie and it runs 2 minutes and 54 seconds according to a tweet by the official Interstellar Twitter account.
The poster for the film was released today and it cryptically reads "Mankind was born on Earth. It was never meant to die here."
In the teaser, McConaughey’s voiceover describes a hopeful message as clips of the olden days pass across the screen. Interstellar is set to hit theaters on November 7.
