Miguel Cotto's next fight against Sergio Martinez is set to make history as "Junito" takes as shot at another title in his fourth weight division.

The upcoming title fight will take place in June 7th at the place Miguel Cotto considers his second home, the Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Miguel Cotto's next fight is at middleweight, his first in the division, and the heaviest weight class he will be competing at in his 13-year career as a professional boxer. He has faced the best and most dangerous fights along the way, and facing Sergio Martinez, whom he considers as the best at 160 pounds, is a new challenge he fully welcomes.

"I believe that I given the fans the best fights that I can," Cotto told Bad Left Hook. "I fought some of the best fighters at 140, 147 and 154 pounds and now here I am facing the best at 160. For me boxing has always been about challenges and competing and this one more fight that proves that point."

Miguel Cotto's next fight against Sergio Martinez was made official in February, to the delight of boxing fans worldwide. Both men are proud fighters and are eager to bear the flag of the home countries they each represent, which makes for an exciting toe-to-toe battle.

And for Miguel Cotto, the fight came at the perfect time.

"This is the kind of fight that always has been talked about and now is becoming a reality, Cotto continued. "I think it is a perfect timing to make it happen. We both have had our moments over our careers.

"I feel good and satisfied that it's happening at this stage of my career. I feel totally renewed and with a fresh mind to come in and do my job on June 7," he added.

Miguel Cotto's next fight against Sergio Martinez could potentially grant him a world title in his fourth weight class. Should he achieve success, he will become the first Puerto Rican boxer to attain such a feat, and this is something he is looking forward to accomplishing.

"I am ready to make history and to prove once more that I am still one of the best fighters in the world," Cotto said.
