"Interstellar" trailer doesn't provide any clues as to what the movie is all about, but it does show Matthew McConaughey and Christopher Nolan at their best with the "Dallas Buyers Club" actor showing his Oscar victory was no fluke.

The "Interstellar" trailer was released and it shows Matthew McConaughey chasing a surveillance drone across a cornfield. In the next scene, he is being questioned by David Oyelowo (The Butler) who points out why he is chosen: it's not because he is not just a pilot or engineer but more importantly, a farmer. This confirms earlier plot leaks that the film will deal about a global food shortage, although it's not clear whether climate change or the sun is the culprit.

Then Michael Caine ("Dark Knight Rises") shows up telling Matthew McConaughey: "We must face the reality that nothing in our solar system can help us."

So how can Matthew McConaughey help save the earth? He can't and that's why Michael Caine adds: "We're not meant to save the world. We're meant to leave it."

There are also very emotional scenes in the film, which viewers can expect from a storyteller like Christopher Nolan, which hints that the sci-fi movie will appeal to all demographics and not just the science nuts.

The screenplay is written by Christopher Nolan and brother, Jonathan and Inside Movies described film based on the "Interstellar" trailer as a "brilliant little jewel in its own right, equal parts mind-blowing adventure and heartbreaking family drama."

Director Christopher Nolan in March told The Hollywood Reporter that Matthew McConaughey was his top choice to play the lead in "Interstellar."

"I admired him as a movie star and I knew he was a good actor, but I didn't know how much potential he had until I saw that early cut. It was a transformative performance," he said.

"Interstellar" is set to be released to theaters on November 7, 2014.
