Watch Dogs Release Date: Even though Sony took away all reference away from Watch Dogs being 1080p at 60 fps, it seems that Watch Dog is insistent at that on the PS4 it will be 1080p and 60 fps.
The original story on the website of Sony seemed to suggest that Watch Dogs would be in 1080p and 60 fps on the PS4 but not on the Xbox One. However Sony have now made changes to the website and taken away this reference.
This suggests that perhaps Watch Dogs isn’t going to be 1080p at 60 fps on either of the two consoles. But Ubisoft do not seem to agree with this.
Recently at a Ubisoft even in Germany it was said that they had openly talked about Watch Dogs being 1080p at 60 fps on the PS4.
Lead Gameplay Designer Danny Belanger even expressed his excitement towards the game and added:
"We tried to make a game that's very scalable in the sense that it supports your play style. It supports what you want to do most of the time. And it also supports your motivation. Do you want to play a story? Do you want to drive? Do you want to shoot? Do you want to hack? Do you want to play with others? Do you want to play on a tablet? It allows players to do what they feel like, which I find really cool. There are lots of things to explore, there's lots of things to try. I think the greatest thing about Watch Dogs is doing what you think is fun. What better way to experience all these by seeing it in high definition."
So why would Sony take reference of this from their website? Surely they would want to brag about it?
It could be down to the fact that they led people to believe that Watch Dogs would not be on the 1080p on the Xbox One and this may not be so.
Watch Dogs is currently scheduled for a May 27th release.
