Good news Marvel fans, Hugh Jackman won't be leaving the X-Men film franchise soon, as he is set to do more movies with his character Wolverine in Wolverine 3. That's not all, the Australian actor has also expressed his interest in joining the Avengers in the third movie. Will we see Wolverine in Avengers 3? Here's the scoop!

Hugh Jackman has hinted before that he will retire his iconic role as Wolverine and that the yet untitled "Wolverine 3" movie might be the last time he will don the adamantium claws. However, after the premiere of "X-Men: Days of Future Past" the Australian actor seemed to have a change of heart regarding Wolverine's retirement in the X-Men franchise.

IGN reported on what led to Hugh Jackman changing his mind about leaving the X-Men franchise.

"At one point, you're right, I said I was pretty sure [that 'Wolverine 3' would be my last outing in the role]. But I'm less sure as it goes along. Because after seeing this movie, the whole thing feels fresher to me than ever. And during this movie...I don't want to spoil anything, but it's kind of like a clean slate, so who knows where it's going to go. As long as I have the passion for it and the fans will have me."

Inquirer.net also quoted on Jackman's statements in a press conference as well as his cancer operation.

"I hope this finally puts to bed those nice-guy rumors, all right? That's done." Laughing, he jested about who he just had a fight with. "I won't be doing any more press [tours] with Ian McKellen. That's it."

"I had a basal cell carcinoma taken out last night-that's skin cancer, but the most minor," explained Hugh. Although common and treatable, basal cell carcinoma recurs. "Unfortunately," he continued, "it happens more often [to people of English stock living in] Australia. Please tell [your readers] to get regular checkups. Thankfully, my doctors did, and that's how they found it. Also, wear sunscreen; don't be like me as a kid."

He also gave his final message to his fans about Wolverine.

"It's important for me and for the audience to know that Wolverine is going to go in a different direction, to find another way to flesh out this great character," Hugh remarked, stressing the importance of the story and screenplay. "There are so many ways you can go with it but I'm not going to do them just for the sake of it-I love the character too much. I have too much respect for the fans to do that, so if I was a betting man, I'd say yes but it's not 100 percent because the script is not done."

Hugh Jackman is expected to appear on two X-Men movies: X-Men: Apocalypse on May 27, 2016 and Wolverine 3 on March 3rd, 2017.

Meanwhile, there have been rumors buzzing around that Wolverine will join Iron Man, Captain America and the rest of the Avengers in the third installment of the movie.

According to MoviePilot, Hugh Jackman expressed his desire to put Wolverine in the Avengers, and hinted a plot of him fighting the Incredible Hulk.

"I would love to see him as part of The Avengers because there's a great dysfunction among that team, and I think Wolverine would fit right into that. He'd like that."

The X-Men star also went onto show he understands the often complicated and turbulent dynamics between superheroes by explaining that.

"There's no doubt he'd get in a fight with Hulk at some point. Those two bad, rage-filled characters are going to square off at some point. It would be quite fun. I don't know how much fun to shoot it would be because I'm sure I'd be on the worst end of it, but hey, he can heal."

This could be good angle for Avengers 3 as Wolverine is one of the few X-Men members to join the ranks of the Avengers, but it's highly doubted that this will happen since 20th Century Fox hold the rights of the X-Men franchise while Marvel Studios handles the Avengers.
