The Pokemon X and Y spinoff games, Pokemon Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby will be showcased on E3 2014 and you can expect new gameplay detail announcements and new videos if the reports are to be believed!
Shigeki Morimoto has hinted that the upcoming "Pokemon Alpha Sapphire" and "Pokemon Omega Ruby" will feature some changes when compared to "Pokemon X" and "Pokemon Y." According to a report from Nintendo Insider on May 17, the designer posted that development team of the two new installments is going to make a huge alteration when it comes to combat. Unfortunately, he did not get into anything specific.
"Pokemon Alpha Sapphire" and "Pokemon Omega Ruby" were officially announced earlier this month for the 3DS. Nintendo released a short trailer for both games, showcasing the weather-changing effects of the two legendary monsters, Groudon and Kyogre. The mega evolution forms for both pocket monsters may have also been shown as Game Freak will apparently be using the same 3D graphics engine that were created with "Pokemon X" and "Pokemon Y."
The two upcoming titles are actually remakes of "Pokemon Ruby" and "Pokemon Sapphire." The two games are part of the third-generation of releases for the role-playing series as both were launched for the Game Boy Advance in 2003. "Pokemon Ruby" and "Pokemon Sapphire" added some new features to the series such as double battles in addition to abilities and natures. It is unknown if the same elements will be brought back with the remakes.
For now, the official competitions and tournaments being set up are based around "Pokemon X" and "Pokemon Y," which were released in 2013. The sixth-generation of titles added mega evolution and other elements. You can take a look at a screen featuring last year's video games from the official Facebook page for the series with the photo attached near the top side of this article.
"Pokemon Alpha Sapphire" and "Pokemon Omega Ruby" are expected to come out in November 2014. Nintendo should be revealing more information during E3 2014 as the company is planning several small events during the convention. Game Freak is the studio responsible for the development of the upcoming remakes.
