Nate Diaz news covers Dana White's reaction to the inactive UFC lightweight's intentions to fight Matt "The Immortal" Brown.

A week ago, Nate Diaz expressed his intentions to fight Matt Brown, via MMAFighting.com, right after Brown's impressive knockout victory over Erick Silva at UFC Fight Night. The younger Diaz responded to the buzz about a potential fight between "The Immortal" and his older brother Nick.

"I want the Matt Brown fight," Nate said in his statement. "That's what I'm looking for. I'm trying to fight the baddest motherf**kers out there. I'm not trying to fight some lame ass fighter that they're trying to build off of me."

"My brother is retired. So if this guy wants to fight a Diaz, he's got to fight me," he added.

UFC President Dana White went on to respond to Nate Diaz's statements through the latest episode of UFC Tonight. As of late, the UFC President's relationship with the Diaz brothers has been filled with friction, to say the least.

The reason for the rift between Nate Diaz and Dana White is the former's public dissatisfaction towards his UFC contract and the latter's move to take the former out of the UFC standings. So far, the professional relationship between both men has shown no improvement.

"Nate Diaz did say he was interested in that fight, but that fight doesn't make sense," White said in a separate statement. "He's fighting at '55. He's lost two of his last three fights, and Brown is on this unbelievable roll."

"Brown is a welterweight and has been fighting there for a long time, and is deserved a top contender," he continued.

Dana White, however, has not closed his doors on the elder Diaz, and has actually welcomed the idea of the Nick Diaz-Matt Brown match-up.

"Listen, if Nick Diaz wants to come out and fight Brown, I'll do that fight."
