Samsung Galaxy S5 News Samsung Galaxy S5 Active is in the works for AT&T according to rumors, and now it has gotten a bit of support in the form of a hands-on video that claims to show off the said handset.
According to CNet, "videos posted online by TK Tech News purport to show an AT&T version of the S5 Active, alleged to be a follow-up to last year's rugged version of the S4. The Galaxy S4 Active is a reinforced, waterproof, splash-proof phone for sporting types, designed to be taken out on adrenaline-pumping, danger-laced extreme activities like swimming, snowboarding and music festivals."

To allow users to fiddle with their phone while submerged, the alleged Active shows off the same buttons as the previous Active. The touchscreen function doesn't work underwater. The leaked phone has a Super AMOLED screen with crisp 1080p detail unlike the S4 Active, which boasted an LCD screen.

Under the rugged exterior is reported to be a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor with 2GB of RAM and a 15.9-megapixel camera.

Android and Me described the S5 Active as shown in video, "As the device is booting up, we're greeted by a splash screen that reads "Samsung Galaxy S5 Active" followed by an AT&T screen. We're then shown the S5 Active's About phone screen, which reveals that its model number is SM-G870A and that its running Android 4.4.2 beneath Samsung's TouchWiz UI. Finally, we can see that there are some preloaded AT&T apps on the device's home screen," it stated.

"While the regular Galaxy S5 is water resistant, it's possible that Samsung opted to create a Galaxy S5 Active for folks that want something that can withstand a bit more," the site added.
