"House of Cards" season 3 news are abuzz about the announced casting call for new characters which include an NSA director, military colonel, and a Detective Smith. Could the past be catching up with Veep Frank Underwood?
Kimberly Skyrme Casting announced that it is looking for new talents to be part of "House of Cards" season 3.
Among the characters are: a male or female NSA director, a "blue-collar" type male detective between 35-48 years old, and a male military colonel between 50-60 years old. It's not clear if the detective will look into Vice President Frank Underwood's role in the deaths of Peter Russo (Corey Stoll) Zoe Barnes (Kate Mara).
The casting call is also open to performers who will play:
ER DOCTOR: MALE or FEMALE: 38-43, harried and tired
REPORTER-SUSAN: FEMALE: 35-55 years old, open ethnicity
REPORTER-GEOFF: MALE: 35-55 years old, open ethnicity
PHOTOGRAPHER: MALE: 42-48 years old, open ethnicity. Photography experience essential.
CHAIRMAN: MALE: 50-60 years old, part of senate
SENATOR TORN: MALE: 58-62 years old, Southern senator
SENATOR EVERETT: FEMALE: 45-55 years old, academic
BETTE: FEMALE: 32-36 years old , open ethnicity, good with hands, smart, pretty, capable."
In another "House of Cards" season 3 news, production might start as early as next month between June 12 to July 15, 2014, WTOP 103.5 Radio revealed, based on the open casting announcement by Kimberly Skyrme.
Earlier, fans welcomed the "House of Cards" season 3 news when Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley approved the tax credits amounting to $11.5 million for production and another $7.5 million in grants for Media Rights Capital, creator of "House of Cards," in order to keep the Netflix series within the state.
In a statement, per Deadline, the governor said after inking the deal: "We're going to keep the 3700 jobs and more than 100 million dollars of economic activity and investment that 'House Of Cards' generates right here in Maryland."
