Manchester United transfer news has it that Arjen Robben turned down any possibility of playing for England's Manchester United Football Club as the player maintains his loyalty with Bayern Munich.
Despite his previous experience playing for an English Premiere League Football club like Chelsea FC and his ties with fellow Dutchman and "Man U" manager Louis Van Gaal, the 30-year old signed a contract extension with Bayern Munich, which runs through 2017.
Arjen Robben spoke to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf explaining his sentiments about his reported Manchester United transfer.
"Manchester United? That's not an option," Robben said. "I am staying at Bayern Munich. Period. And I cannot imagine that Bayern would want to sell me."
"I would have been open to a move then, because I had a great time under Van Gaal at Bayern," he added. "He has been very important for my career. However, fact is that I am very happy at my current club."
Regarded by ESPN as "one of the best wingers in the world", Arjen Robben is a veteran of top-level football competition. His international career has spanned for a decade now, having played at the UEFA Euro 2004, 2008, and 2012. He has also made two World Cup appearances in 2006 and 2010.
Arjen Robben will once again be suiting up for his Netherlands team at this year's World Cup tournament under Louis Van Gaal, right before the manager takes on his post at the Manchester United helm.
While the Netherlands forward believes that "Man U" has "done great to appoint Van Gaal", Arjen Robben says that the Manchester United transfer would have happened if he were not happy with his current football club.
"I have only just renewed my contract and we are happy with each other," Robben replied. "It would have been a different story had I been unhappy."
Arjen Robben has categorically denied his reported Manchester United transfer right after his teammate Toni Kroos also released a statement saying that he is expecting to remain with Bayern Munich.
