Manny Pacquiao news is out and Hall-of-Fame trainer Freddie Roach is showing interest in a possible Manny Pacquiao vs. Canelo Alvarez fight.

The four-time Boxing Writers Association of America Trainer of the Year awardee spoke to Marcos Villegas of The Boxing Channel and opened up about the possibility of the match-up.

"I love the fight," Roach said. "I think it's a great fight for Manny. (Canelo's) one of the up and comers, though. New kid on the block. Good looking guy. Probably the No. 1 pay-per-view fighter in the world."

"Him and Manny would do big, big numbers. It's definitely something that I'm interested in," he continued.

Manny Pacquiao has been originally stipulated to fight the winner of the Juan Manuel Marquez-Mike Alvarado fight, with his newly acquired WBO welterweight title on the line.

With Marquez emerging as the winner of the said fight, a potential fifth showdown between the two old rivals was looming, but "El Dinamita's" trainer Nacho Beristain immediately killed off the mere possibility.

However, Freddie Roach himself has moved on as well, and has already been deeply contemplating on the possible Manny Pacquiao-Canelo Alvarez fight.

"I think it'd be a good fight," Roach said on the new Manny Pacquiao news. "I'd love that fight. There's a lot of fights out there that I'd like Manny to fight, but since the promoters are against each other right now, they're hard to get."

Manny Pacquiao will be fighting around the 150-pound weight range once he faces Canelo Alvarez. The last time he did was when he fought Antonio Margarito for the WBC light middleweight championship, wherein he won a world title in his eighth weight class.

But since the weight range is at 147-154 pounds, Roach established a 150-pound catchweight for the fight. He is considering doing the same for the potential Manny Pacquiao-Canelo Alvarez fight, although he believes that "it's a hard decision to make."

"I know (Canelo) came down to 152 for Mayweather, but it's a hard decision to make," Roach explained.

"But I think there's a lot of obstacles in the way that need to be cleaned up between Oscar's company and Top Rank. Hopefully, everything works out, though," he said of the Manny Pacquiao news.
