Brand-New Maps Leaked For Call of Duty Ghosts Invasion DLC! Activision’s Tease Pays Off, In Preparation For Ghost Expansions, With Advanced Warfare In Development

Leaked screenshots reveal new maps in the latest of a long-running franchise, Call of Duty Ghosts Invasion DLC.

The third out of four installment of the CoD Ghosts pack is scheduled for a summer release, for the next-gen consoles and for the PC. Activision is keeping updates to a minimum, with a major reveal expected at June's E3 2014 Event.

A significant update, either leaked or officially released, shows screenshots of gameplay maps. Some are enhanced versions of previous maps, others with overhauled or brand-new layouts.

The maps have been posted on official CoD websites, confirmed as layouts for Call of Duty Ghosts Invasion DLC. The leaks have since been pulled out; external sites like the PlayStation community forums managed to repost the images, though.

One of the maps is dubbed "Pharaoh," which feature ancient Egyptian ruins. The layout is reminiscent of the CounterStrike installments, and is presumably set in an archaeological site.

The second map ("Departed") has a festive setting, in an obscure Mexican location. The backdrop is set in a Day of the Dead ("Dia de Los Muertos") celebration.

The third leaked map is set in an old galleon ship, docked at harbor. "Mutiny" comes with a somber and gloomy backdrop, suggestive of pirates, treasure chests, and gold (gameranx.com).

Activision is yet to confirm a release date for Call of Duty Ghosts Invasion DLC, but a new title is already in the works. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare revives anticipation for the series, as the Ghost expansions keep players satisfied.

A free demo was released over the previous week (May 23-27) via Xbox Live. The downloadable demo is likely a beta test for expansions or a new game in development. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare first comes out on the Xbox One, pending release date.

Updates on the Call of Duty Ghosts Invasion DLC, as well as the wrap-up to the Extinction series, are expected in the coming weeks, with E3 2014 up in June.
