Since it opened in cinemas in March 2014, fans can't stop speculating what will happen in the "Divergent" sequel "Insurgent."
New reports have surfaced that majority of the sequel will involve the Amity faction. In "Divergent," viewers saw how Tris (played by Shailene Woodley) who was originally from the Abnegation (the selfless) faction chose to join Dauntless (the brave). The story revolves around Tris' training for the faction as well as her budding love story with Dauntless leader Four (played by Theo James)
While "Divergent" mainly focuses on the Abnegation, Dauntless and Erudite factions, the sequel "Insurgent" will put prime on the Amity (the peaceful) faction.
"Insurgent" will start with Tris and Four being fugitives on the run after they went against Erudite leader Jeanine Matthews (played by Kate Winslet). The two sought to hide in Amity. While they thought of this as a wise decision at first, could turn out to be a problem for Tris and Four in the sequel.
The Amity faction is known for being friendly, trusting and peaceful. But its determination to stay neutral will make things complicated.
Fans will be seeing a lot of our protagonists interacting with the Amity faction in the "Divergent" sequel "Insurgent" most especially with faction leader Johanna Reyes (played by Octavia Spencer)
It was just recently announced that Academy Award winner Octavia will be joining the cast of the hit young adult novel to movie franchise.
Octavia was given the Oscar for Outstanding Actress in a Supporting Role for her role in "The Help." She is also set to star in Fox's new drama "Red Band Society."
"Divergent" has already surpassed the $252M mark in worldwide box office. "Divergent" sequel "Insurgent" aims to have the same success when it hits theaters on March 2015. It will then be followed by the franchise's third instalment: "Allegiant Part 1" in 2016, and "Allegiant Part 2" in 2017.
