Was Brad Pitt seriously considered for True Detective? The 'World War Z' actor also opened up about his Maleficent actor.

In mid-May, Nerdist reported that Academy Award nominated actress Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty) had been offered the lead role in 'True Detective's second season. The report was quickly denied by Chastain's reps, who said she wouldn't be starring in the series. Meanwhile, HBO denied even offering Chastain the role. Around the time of Chastain, there were also rumors that Brad Pitt was being considered for Season 2. This was highly plausible as True Detective is shot in Louisiana, and the Jolie-Pitt family has a home in New Orleans. However, Daily Source reports that sources confirmed that the idea was entertained but was never seriously considered.

Brad Pitt opened up for the first time about his attacker on the red carpet for Angelina Jolie's new movie Maleficent. Vitalii Sediuk attacked Pitt on the red carpet at the premiere of Maleficent last week in Los Angeles.

Pitt said to a statement to People, "I was at the end of the line signing autographs, when out the corner of my eye I saw someone stage-diving over the barrier at me."

"I took a step back; this guy had latched onto my lapels. I looked down and the nutter was trying to bury his face in my crotch, so I cracked him twice in the back of the head - not too hard - but enough to get his attention, because he did let go," he continued. "I think he was then just grabbing for a hand hold because the guys were on him, and he reached up and caught my glasses."

Pitt added, "I don't mind an exhibitionis. But if this guy keeps it up he's going to spoil it for the fans who have waited up all night for an autograph or a selfie, because it will make people more wary to approach a crowd. And he should know, if he tries to look up a woman's dress again, he's going to get stomped."
