Forza Motorsport 5 is set for a makeover: Microsoft announces new content to the title in Game of the Year Edition.

Forza 5's original content remains intact, in addition to a whopping 18 new tracks thrown into gameplay. The game will also feature the Top Gear car pack with ten vehicles available for download.

The game is set for an Xbox One launch on July 22, with a pricepoint of US $60. Test reviews of the title assert the game is in the same league as the Gran Turismo series. "Forza 5 is not a racing game. Not really. It's a driving simulation that features races."

The review downplays the game's acute attention to detail. "Despite all the quality of the production, these chases aren't as thrilling as those of Forza 4, let alone GRID or F1 2013. So unless you're convinced the remarkable graphics and attention to automotive detail are absolutely worth your money, there are other racing games that play much better."

Forza Motorsport 5 Game of the Year Edition is a slight departure from the racing simulators next-gen gamers expect. In comparison to Forza Horizon, Forza Motorsport is considered an OC racer's game.

Microsoft has also announced a Fall release for its Forza Horizon sequel, earlier this month. The game will be available on the Xbox One, with a backward port to the Xbox 360. Forza Horizon 2 is more fast-paced, with hundreds of cars available.

The Drivatar system of Forza Motorsport 5 is also carried onto Forza Horizon 2, as well as a weather system new to the series (computerandvideogames.com).

Turn 10 Studios announced the July release for Forza Motorsport 5 Game of the Year Edition comes with the optional Top Gear Car Pack, priced at $9.99 but free to download for season pass holders. Cars on the expansion may also be bought separately.
