Recent news of Charles Manson's parole sparked both outrage and interest among netizens worldwide. However, the credibility of the site that released the news is questionable.

In fact, it's not credible at all since it's a known satirical site.

Empire News, a site big on everything satire and hoax, released an article saying:

"One of the most famous killers in the American prison system will be walking free. On Tuesday Charles Manson, who is now 79 years old, was granted parole by the California Board of Parole and authorized by California Governor Jerry Brown."

"According to California Board of Parole Hearings Commissioner John Peck, prison overcrowding forced the prison board to re-evaluate prisoners that are elderly or those with serious illnesses."

"He is 79 years old and in poor health. We know it's not going to be a popular decision but, considering our other options he's the least threat."

The news proved to be a cause of alarm and was shared countless times on different social media platforms. It has also quickly become a trending topic.

Charles Manson was sentenced to prison for life in 1972. Manson led the Manson Family, a group responsible for orchestrating murders of seven people, including "The Pianist" director Roman Polanski's wife Sharon Tate. Tate was eight months pregnant when she was killed.

Manson was denied parole for the 12th time in 2012.

In an ABC report during the parole hearing, John Peck, a member of the Corcoran State Prison panel said, "This panel can find nothing good as far as suitability factors go."

"I'm special. I'm not like the average inmate," Peck said referring to what Manson told a psychologist. "I have spent my life in prison. I have put five people in the grave. I am a very dangerous man."
