Charlize Theron and Sean Penn have known each other for 18 years now but were not in a romantic relationship. They were only good friends, until early this year, they officially became a couple. However, they are not going to get married yet. Perhaps, until it comes straight from their mouths that they are already engaged, then nothing is official yet.
Theron said in an interview with Esquire that she didn't expect any relationship would blossom. For the past years, the two have been going out even with then Theron's boyfriend Stuart Townsend. After nine years of being in a relationship with Townsend, it ended with a breakup in 2010.
Rumor came up that Theron and Penn were dating when they spotted together in Hawaii, spending holidays at the 58-year-old actor's beachfront house in Oahu. However, this was not rumor after all when the two confirmed that they are, in fact, dating.
The 38-year-old actress is already in a relationship with Penn for 8 months now. Although wedding bells are not ringing louder yet, the two are said to be talking about having a family. They are just getting ready. The buzz that the "Matrix" star Keanu Reeves might not be invited in the wedding of his "Sweet November" and "Devil's Advocate" co-star is just a rumor. Theron and Reeves are still good friends.
Going back to having children, Theron's 2-year-old son Jackson perhaps will be excited to have a baby brother or sister once her mother and Penn get married.
The "Prometheus" star has been busy promoting her latest movie "A Million Ways to Die in the West" released last May 30 in theaters. Seth MacFarlane, Amanda Siegfried, and Liam Neeson also starred in the film directed by MacFarlane himself.
Theron has another upcoming thriller movie, "Dark Places", set to be released this September while Penn's latest movie "The Gunman" will be in the big screen in February 2015.
