Another Jeremy Renner movie is set to hit the big screen as the main man of "Bourne Legacy" and "Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters" stars in dramatic-thriller "Kill The Messenger" set to hit the big screen on October 10. The actor will also be reprising his role as William Brandt for "Mission Impossible 5" together with Tom Cruise.
Based from the 2006 book of Nick Shou of the same title, the movie circles around the life of Gary Webb, an award-winning journalist in mid-1990s. Webb, who is a Pulitzer Prize winner, made noise on his fearless exposure and attacks regarding the connection between the CIA-supported Nicaraguan contras and the crack-cocaine epidemic in United States, especially in Los Angeles.
He has also gained enemies and threats from due to whistle-blowing.
A review from Yahoo said that the movie 'also raised still-relevant questions about media ethics, sourcing, and the press' role in protecting government secrets.'
Jeremy Renner's latest movie offering is directed by Michael Cuesta and written by Peter Landesman. Variety said that other stars include Rosemarie DeWitt, Lucas Hedges, Robert Patrick, Barry Pepper, Michael Sheen, Paz Vega, Michael Kenneth Williams and Mary Elizabeth Winstead.
Renner partners with Scott Stuber and Naomi Despres as producers of the journalism drama movie set to be shown just in time for the coming Oscar's season.
The Metro UK also reported that the 43-year-old actor is back in the fifth installment of Tom Cruise's "Mission Impossible." Playing William Brandt from "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol," Renner will go back-to-back with agent Ethan Hunt to fulfill another mission. Rumor also has it that Renner will soon replace Katie Holmes' ex-husband when he retires as the main star.
Aside from the action-packed movie, Renner's time is also spent doing the Avengers 2.
"I'm kind of strapped time-wise doing 'Avengers 2' and 'Mission: Impossible 5' is rearing its head, and then they want to do another 'Bourne' movie," the actor said to Yahoo about more Jeremy Renner movie update.
