Georges St-Pierre news features trainer Firas Zahabi saying that "GSP" will be back from retirement, but he will not fight protégé Rory MacDonald.

"GSP" last fought in November 2013, wherein he survived a grueling five-round battle and was able to come out victorious via unanimous decision. After being able to successfully defend his belt for a ninth consecutive time, Georges St-Pierre decided to take an indefinite time off from the competition.

For the long-time UFC welterweight champion, the lack of motivation was the main reason for walking away from the Octagon.

"I need to get the motivation back," St-Pierre said in an interview in late May. "It's hard, because it's always the same routine, the same thing. And I need to fix some things in my life to make it more efficient."

"Once everything can be done, maybe I'll come back. We'll see how it goes. But I can't say yes, I can't say no, because I just don't know right now," he added.

However, trainer Firas Zahabi spoke about some Georges St-Pierre news, saying that his fighter is ready to make a UFC return soon.

"Georges is doing fantastic, it's amazing," Zahabi told Ariel Helwani for MMA Fighting. "I think there's a lot of fire left in him, especially since he got injured. Now, he's probably more motivated than ever."

"He was just about to start sparring again before he got injured," he added. "I think there's a lot of martial arts left in him."

Georges St-Pierre has competed at the same weight class as his protégé Rory MacDonald. "GSP" has taken the younger "Ares" under his wing since his early days as a mixed martial arts fighter, and has maintained his refusal to never step in the cage with MacDonald.

Firas Zahabi himself affirmed this statement about the Georges St-Pierre news.

"No," he said. "They won't fight each other."
