It took five games for the Spurs to trod on Miami. The ABC News NBA Game 5 averaged 15.5 million viewers while 18 million saw the final NBA Game 5 match when Spurs clinched the title on Sunday. In 2013, those figures averaged 17.7 million between two games. However, last year the games reached a 7-game limit. Comparing five games, this year's five-game series topped last year's five games on average.
The NBA led ABC to a skyrocketing lead in prime team TV, averaging 7.8 million views in a week."NBC had 5.1 million, CBS had 5 million, Univision had 3 million, Fox had 2.8 million, Telemundo had 1.4 million, ION Television had 1.1 million and the CW had 950,000." ABC news reports.
