Jared Leto is in early talks to replace Will Smith in Julius Onah's 'Brilliance' according to Deadline. The movie will be an adaption of the 2013 Marcus Sakey novel with a script from David Koepp, known for his work on Mission: Impossible and Spider-Man. Noomi Rapace has been attached to play the female lead and Universal will release through its Legendary deal.
According to Deadline, "Brilliance focuses on a world where a rare set of people are born with extraordinary abilities and are called "brilliants." At the center of the story is a federal agent with great hunting gifts who is drafted to track down a terrorist, another such brilliant who intends to start a civil war."
Leto's brother and 30 Seconds to Mars bandmate Shannon Leto was arrested for suspicion of a DUI and for having an outstanding warrant for driving without a license, according to TMZ.
The drummer for 30 Seconds to Mars was taken into custody in Hollywood around 7:00 PM on Monday evening after cops saw his car stalled on Fairfax Blvd in Hollywood. According to law enforcement sources, cops thought Leto showed signs of impairment and arrested him.
Leto is still in custody and being held on bail for $5,000 for the DUI and $2,500 for unlicensed driving.
Cannes Lions, a creativity conference which explores advertising, creative content creation and branding, has Hollywood talent and execs flocking to the Cote d'Azur less than a month after the iconic Cannes film festival. This year Bono, Sarah Jessica Parker, Ralph Fiennes and Jared Leto are among the many stars who will attend the conference according to Billboard. David Benioff (Game of Thrones), Armando Iannucci (Veep), Gale Ann Hurd (The Walking Dead) and Gareth Neame (Downton Abbey) and director Spike Jonze will also be in attendance.
Leto will also be giving a presentation.
