Singing couple Paul Simon and Edie Brickell are now free from their domestic violence incident charges , a court official said Tuesday

According to CNN, Norwalk court clerk confirmed that the prosecutors decided to drop and declined to file any charges against the singing couple.

Simon and Brickell were reportedly scheduled for a court hearing Tuesday but both of them did not appear in the court instead they sent their lawyer to take care of their case.

The lawyer reportedly told the judge that the argument was just a natural circumstance between couples and there was no further concern about charging them with domestic violence. However, prosecutors also claimed that they would reopen the case in the next 13 months if they were arrested or charged again with the same case.

CNN reports that police arrested Simon and Brickell and charged with disorderly conduct, April 26 after having dispute which later turned physical at their residence in New Canaan, Connecticut. The two were reportedly released from jail the next day.

Meanwhile, Brickel sent a statement on CNN through her lawyer explaining what had happened at their home last month.

Brickell to CNN: ""I got my feelings hurt and I picked a fight with my husband. The police called it disorderly. Thank God it's orderly now."

The couple told TMZ that they are now living orderly and assured that they were still in love.

Simon is the other half of the famous 1960s duo Simon and Garfunkel who are known for their hit songs "Bridge Over Troubled Water." "The sound of Silence" and Scarborough Fair." The 12-time Grammy winner has also produced solo hit songs including "Graceland" and "50 Ways to Leave You"

Brickell meanwhile is best known for her hit song " What I Am" with her 1980s rock band Edie Brickell and New Bohemians.

The singing couple has been married for 22 years with three children.
