Rock group Pearl Jam shocked fans with their own cover of Frozen's "Let It Go!"

Stereogum calls iconic rock group Pearl Jam as "one of those bands that inspires intense fanaticism, a band that parents will drag their kids along to kicking and screaming so they can expose them to the band's genius at an early age." Those "bored" kids however, got a pleasant surprise last Saturday.

According to E! News, frontman Eddie Vedder, who has two daughters, belted out the award-winning Disney hit's chorus in the midst of performing "Daughters" on stage. He sang the popular tune for about 30 seconds to the delight of thousands of adoring Pearl Jam fans at the Stadio San Siro in Milan, Italy.

As music website Spin pointed out, Vedder strained to reach the high notes in the fan-taken video. However, "those endearing vocal cracks give the kiddie cut a surprising amount of pathos, especially when you consider that it had come after the melodrama that marks 'Daughter.'"

Spin also talked about Vedder's affinity for doing soundtracks and jokingly called this short cover an "attempt at making his case for the next Disney musical."

Pearl Jam has covered a handful of songs including Neil Young's "Rockin' The Free World," The Beatles' "You've Got To Hide Your Love Away," The Ramones' "Sheen Is A Punk Rocker," and Bob Marley's "Redemption Song."

MTV thinks Pearl Jam covering the song is "weird" but countered that they loved it.

The "Let It Go" was first recorded by Broadway star Idina Menzel for the Disney's latest animation, "Frozen." She also voiced Queen Elsa in the animated film. Demi Lovato performed a pop version of the song, which was followed by other Youtube users posting their own covers of the song. "Frozen" is the fifth highest grossing film of all time.
