South Korea struggled as Algeria took the day's victory 2 - 4 at Estadio Beira-Rio in Porto Alegre Sunday.

Algeria was aggressive all throughout the match, despite expectations that they will be defending all throughout the match, taking the lead during the first half.

Striker Islam Slimani attacked with a left-footed shot from an assist by Carl Medjani, scoring on the 26th - minute mark of the match. It was immediately followed up by Rafik Halliche with a very close header through a cross by Abdelmoumene Djabou, leading Algeria 2 - 0 barely a minute after Slimani scored for the team.

Another goal was buried as Djabou buried another point through a left-footed attack from striker Islam Slimani, scoring another point on the 38th - minute mark of the match.

Nevertheless, South Korea was not disheartened despite Algeria's dominance during the first half as they managed to fight back during the second half.

Son Heung-Min delivers a goal with a left-footed shot from a through ball by Ki Sung-Yueng, taking a point for South Korea on the 50th - minute mark.

Algeria immediately answers to South Korea as Yacine Brahimi scores another point for the team with a right-footed shot which was assisted by Sofiane Feghouli, leading the team 4 - 1 on the 64th - minute mark.

Meanwhile, South Korea attempts to catch up once again as Koo Ja-Cheol answers with a close-range left-footed shot from Lee Keun-Ho on the 72nd - minute mark of the match. Still, Algeria's defenses continue to thwart South Korea's attacks, ending the game 2 - 4.

Algeria coach Vahid Halilhodzic comments in BBC Sports: "We played very well, very effectively and then it went down a little bit - maybe it was psychological, maybe it was physical - we will have to talk about this."
He further adds: "But I think that this was a real feat this afternoon and I would like to congratulate my players."

On the other hand, South Korea coach Hong Myung-bo says: "In the stadium, there were a lot of Korean fans and I would like to apologise to them."

"We have one game left and I would just like to promise that we will do our best for the next match," he tells BBC Sports.

South Korea matches up against Belgium, who won 1 - 0 against Russia, at Arena de Sao Paulo. Meanwhile, Algeria faces Russia at Arena da Baixada in Curitiba. Both matches will be held on Thursday.
