Urijah Faber will not be fighting T.J. Dillashaw any time soon, but "The California Kid" is looking to take on other marquee fights.

Urijah Faber and T.J Dillashaw, both of whom are products of the renowned Team Alpha Male, have been pitted against each other after the latter won the UFC bantamweight title from Renan Barão at UFC 173 in May.

Initially, the newly crowned champion was open to the idea of fighting "The California Kid", whom he considers as a friend, brother, and mentor.

"It's a crazy situation that we could be put in, but they want the drama behind the fights," Dillashaw told analyst Joe Rogan in his podcast The Joe Rogan Experience. "Hey, if they're willing to shell out the cash maybe me and Urijah will have a smile on our face while fighting."

However, Urijah Faber spoke about the rumored fight against T.J Dillashaw, and immediately dismissed it.

"I have no desire to fight T.J," Faber said in The Great MMA Debate podcast. "I don't think he wants to fight me either. I don't see it happening. I've got some big fights in front of me, and I hate to look ahead of anything."

Urijah Faber, unlike T.J Dillashaw, has yet to win a title in the UFC. While he is one of the promotion's top bantamweights, "The California Kid" has been unsuccessful so far in his three UFC title fights, against Dominick Cruz and Renan Barão twice.

But for Urijah Faber, given the current landscape in the 135-pound division, there are a lot of choices among the division's top competitors.

They're talking about the rematch with (Renan) Barao and then he has the loss against Raphael Assuncao, Dominick Cruz needs to get back in the mix, there's a lot of fights that could happen," Faber said. "Even John Dodson has a win over T.J. that could be an interesting battle."
