Halo 5 Release Date: Praised as one of the best gaming franchises to ever be released, Halo has received a huge number of awards and nominations for different gaming awards.
It comes as no surprise that the upcoming Halo 5: Guardians is one of the most anticipated titles. However, if you haven't checked up on what's going on in the gaming world, we've got you covered. Here's a quick overview of everything that we know and is rumored about Halo 5: Guardians and when exactly you can expect it.
Microsoft is truly looking to give the Xbox One a boost in the sales with the release of Halo 5: Guardians. However, they haven't revealed much official information regarding the title. Almost everything that is certain about the game comes from a trailer from E3 2013 that gave us little to no information as well. The teaser featured a cloaked figure in the desert, which later turns out to be Master Chief. Except that, it didn't feature much more, just a giant robot that rises from the sand and opens up its wings, sending a blast through the sky.
The rumors surrounding the story come for a supposed leaked story synopsis. It stated that Chief will face new challenges and tests. Although nothing much was revealed, it stated that he would have to undertake huge efforts in order to stay alive in a new galaxy, where the sentient life is mercilessly hunted. However, the leaked story was officially denied by Microsoft. Moreover, the information was too generic and didn't make a huge impact in the Halo 5: Guardians rumors and speculation world.
Even though some speculations suggested that the figure was someone else wearing the Shadow Chief costume, Microsoft stated that it is actually Master Chief, or as he is known by the true fans, John-117. The official box art of the game, much as its name, doesn't reveal anything as well. The box art of Halo 5: Guardians features the same shadowy figure standing in the desert with a mirror image below him that shows Master Chief in the exact same location. This led to speculation that the shadowy figure could be Spartan Palmer or even Cortana. However, the game's executive producer Josh Holmes stated officially on Twitter, that the shadowy figure would be a brand new character.
Even though nothing much about Halo 5: Guardians can be officially stated at this point, it is almost certain that the game will be released in 2015. However, fans should not be disappointed as E3 2014 is coming up and Microsoft will most definitely release new information regarding the game. From a gameplay standpoint, Halo 5: Guardians may not offer anything new, but it will nonetheless be a true next-gen experience worthy of its name. If you are a fan of the series and want to learn more about the game, make sure to stay tuned for the latest E3 2014 updates.
