Anderson Silva's comeback fight in the UFC will be possibly against Nick Diaz, and "The Spider" has already welcomed the idea of the said match-up.
Speaking to the media in a recent scrum in Rio de Janeiro in his home country of Brazil, "The Spider" shed more light on what can be expected once Anderson Silva's comeback does happen.
"Well, if everybody is saying that it would be an interesting fight, what am I going to say?" Silva answered. "It could be an interesting fight."
Nick Diaz already gave his thoughts regarding the Anderson Silva comeback. Intriguingly enough, both men share the same sentiments about a likely meeting inside the Octagon in 2015.
"There's been a lot of talk about it," Diaz told Susie Lee of FanTV in an interview a week ago. "I don't know how serious everybody is, a fight like that is a pretty big deal."
"I'm pretty serious if everybody's serious, it is a big deal," he added.
For Anderson Silva's part, the comeback has been a long and winding road. He is still currently undergoing rehabilitation for the broken left leg he suffered after Chris Weidman checked a leg kick he threw in their fight at UFC 168 in December 2013.
"The Spider" has been back in the gym working with his boxing coach Edelson Silva, but admits that he is still not 100%.
"(My left shin) is stronger than the other one, way stronger than the other one," Silva explained. "I'm training, and it's helping me a lot in training. But I'm a little insecure about my movements, so I'm just kicking from the waist up [laughs]."
Anderson Silva may be ready for a comeback, but he also acknowledged the fact that he can and will no longer face the current middleweight champion Chris Weidman for a third fight.
He instead will be rooting for teammates Lyoto Machida and "Jacare" Souza in their own quests for the title.
"Rematch with Chris Weidman is something that is not in my plans," Silva continued. "He already defeated me twice, everybody saw this. Lyoto has an opportunity to fight him, we also have "Jacare", who's coming and looking for his way."
"Let's root for them to get their space in the UFC and get their shot at the title, win it, become great champions and bring big wins for Brazil," he added.
