Greece had a hard time pushing through the defenses of Costa Rica, despite the team hampered as they played with a 10 - man team until the end of the match. However, their patience finally pays off as Sokratis Papastathopoulos equalizes the score with a right-footed shot on the 90th - minute mark.
Despite the additional 30 - minute extension on the match, both teams were still unable to score which led to a series of penalties between Costa Rica and Greece.
