Marvel fans rejoice! Logan's half-brother/arch nemesis, Victor Creed a.k.a Sabretooth will return in the third Wolverine spin off.
According to ComicBookMovie.com, the producers of Wolverine 3 pitched in several characters of whom Logan will face in the movie. Four characters were mentioned and they are Daken, Cyber, Omega Red and Sabretooth.
As we all know from the comics that Daken is the son of Logan from a Japanese woman named Itsu. He has the same powers as his father and has deadly issues with him.
Cyber and Omega Red on the other hand are two of Wolverine's old adversaries in the comics. Cyber happened to train Wolverine during World War I, while Omega Red is hunting him down for Carbonadium Synthesizer.
As for Sabretooth, there have been rumors that they wanted Liev Schreiber to return to the movie, but there have been no confirmation yet regarding Schreiber's participation in the project.
Schreiber played Sabretooth/Victor Creed in the first Wolverine movie back in 2009, and there have been several suggestions in the development of Wolverine 3 as they hinted to have an Old-Man Logan style storyline.
"Well, of course we're looking at Old Man Logan, because that may be the only option left at this point! [laughs] We are looking at a lot of different storylines. No one has jumped out. You can tell from my answer that we're still working it out. I'm working with Jim Mangold, which is exciting. Jim came on board The Wolverine after Darren [Aronofsky] left, so he inherited it. And of all the things that Jim can do, one of the great things he does is develop scripts. I'm excited to see what we can come up with, but I haven't signed on signed on. I'm genuinely at that point where unless it's better than the last one I'm not going to do it."
Meanwhile, Hugh Jackman expressed his desire for his character to face Deadpool again in the big screen.
According to reports from IGN, Hugh Jackman has been telling them that he wants Wolverine to have a rematch with Deadpool. The two characters squared off in the first Wolverine spin off, X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Ryan Reynolds portrayed Wade Wilson a.k.a. Deadpool in the movie. Fans were excited to see the on-screen adaptation of Deadpool, but instead they were disappointed and horrified of what they saw thus the character didn't do any justice.
Hugh Jackman agreed on what the fans think of Deadpool at that time in the X-Men Origins.
"We sort of took a pretty strong choice on Deadpool, where we kind of stitched him up. And I love the character of Deadpool and I think that the sort of badass, fast-talking, funny, annoying Deadpool vs Wolverine would still be cool. We've sort of done it, but I think we could have done that much better."
With the success of X-Men: Days of Future Past in movie theatres around the world, the producers of the franchise started to tackle several spin off movies for Deadpool and Gambit. They're have been reports that a script for the possible Deadpool spin off movie have been made courtesy of Zombieland screen writers Rhett Reese and Paul Werick as Tim Miller will direct the movie.
The question still remains though; will we see Wolverine fight Deadpool again? With Jackman's sudden change of heart in leaving the X-Men franchise and agreeing to do X-Men Apocalypse and Wolverine 3, there could be a possibility that these two will clash again. Will it be in the Deadpool movie or in Wolverine 3, who knows?
