German coach Joachim Low believes fears the possible victory advantage of Brazil in the World Cup's semi-final set on Tuesday.
Germany's victory over France in the quarter final paved the way to secure Germany's last four spot, enabling them to meet Brazil in Belo Horizonte. Low said prior to Germany's victory over Colombia: "They will have a home advantage.
"The South Americans are fighting for their lives here."
After struggling against Algeria in the last 16,Germany enhanced its performance against France, especially in defense. Mats Hummels was eliminated during the first half, restricting France's chances of striking goals.
Matt Hummels says:
"I played in Mexico in 1986 and that was really hard. In some ways we were the guinea pigs back then and now you have all manner of people who give you advice on how to get the most out of your body. I think it is a more level playing field for European teams coming to places like Brazil now."
"There weren't many goalscoring opportunities, which was part of our plan," added Low.
"We didn't want to give France chances with the quality of strikers they possess. We closed them down well - and that was the key.
"France gave everything to try to force the equaliser, but defenders Mats Hummels and Jerome Boateng were excellent and goalkeeper Manuel Neuer did well when called upon."
Both Germany and France stand potential victories as the two teams have historically achieved winning milestones in the past. The challenge now stands on which team will tough out the challenges each of its players impose against the opposing parties.
