Amir Khan news features the former two-time world champion's reported arrest for suspected assault charges on Friday morning.

In a report by Reuters, "King Khan" was arrested but was also released on bail.

"Just before 1.30am on Friday 4 July 2014 police were called following reports of an assault in Bolton," according to an official statement by the Greater Manchester Police about the Amir Khan news.

In another report by The Guardian, police officers were called in at 1:30 am to respond to reports of an assault.

"Officers attended Russell Street and discovered two 19-year-old men had been assaulted. Their injuries are not serious," a police spokesman said about the Amir Khan news. "A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of two section 47 assaults."

According to one witness, the altercation began after one of the alleged victims made untoward remarks about one of "King Khan's" friends. Another bystander claimed that they saw the Olympic silver medalist get out of his car, drove off, and saw a man on the floor afterwards.

Amir Khan news also reveals that "King Khan" was also arrested in 2006, after a pedestrian was hurt in an accident involving the welterweight contender's BMW 654 convertible.

While the former two-time world champion was cleared from his charges, a hefty fine of £1,000 was still imposed on him, along with a six-month ban from driving.

However, the boxer himself denied the reports about the Amir Khan news. He immediately released a statement through Twitter in an attempt to clear his name.

"All nonsense please don't believe what you read," the tweet reads. "I'm home with my family and nobody got beat up."

"King Khan" is originally among the shortlist to fight the current top pound-for-pound boxer in the world, Floyd Mayweather. But because the fight's schedule will be in conflict with his celebration of Ramadan as an Islam, he intends to face Manny Pacquiao before the year ends, instead.
