Brazil moves on to the semifinals as they win over Colombia 2 - 1 at Estadio Castelao in Fortaleza Friday; however, they will be facing Germany without superstar Neymar due to a fractured vertebra.
Brazil captain Thiago Silva is also suspended on the next game against Germany after being booked.
Silva netted a goal for Brazil early in the 7th - minute mark of the match with a left-footed shot through a cross by Neymar.
Silva's opening goal was considered as the team's quickest goal in the World Cup, following Ronaldo's fifth-minute goal against Ghana back in 2006.
David Luiz adds another point for Brazil on the 68th - minute mark from a free kick through a right-footed shot.
Meanwhile, Rodriguez scores a goal for Colombia as he secures a penalty with a left-footed shot on the 80th - minute mark.
Nevertheless, Colombia fails to equalize the match with the game ending 2 - 1, allowing Brazil to advance to the semifinals.
However, Neymar suffers from an injury after being kneed by Juan Zuniga, resulting to a fractured vertebra. Neymar is currently ruled out from the World Cup due to his injury, and will not be able to play against Germany on the semifinals.
"He was crying out in pain," Luiz Felipe Scolari said of Neymar at an article in The New York Times. "It won't be easy for him to recover, based on what the doctor told us and the pain he's in."
Brazil soon faces Germany, who won 1 - 0 against France, at Estadio Mineirao in Belo Horizonte on Tuesday.
