There are plenty of reasons for NBA Superstar LeBron James to leave the Miami Heat and sign with other teams who are stacked with younger talents. One of those teams is the Houston Rockets, who is lead by two Superstars in James Harden and Dwight Howard, who was part of the 2013-2014 All NBA First and Second Team, respectively. Plus, the team also boasts top notch talents in Chandler Parsons, who is a restricted free agent but is expected to match any offer that comes to him, Patrick Beverley, and Terrence Jones.
"League sources say that Houston is preparing to make an all-out push to land James when free agency opens on July 1, assuming James opts out, as expected. If the Rockets miss out on James, they will turn their full attention to Carmelo Anthony. Chris Bosh is also on the radar."
"There are rumblings that James will start weighing his options this weekend. One rival executive pegged his chances of leaving Miami at 40 percent."
"The competition for James' affection will be fierce, but Houston's pitch may be tough to beat."
Although most reports indicate the reason for Miami's Big 3 opting out of their respective contracts is they want to give the team enough flexibility to sign key free agents this summer, Miami Heat fans can never be sure as lots of other franchises have enough cap room to lure and sign max deals with any Superstars including the Heat's big three.
Pat Riley was asked about the preferred methods to retain his stable of superstars, three players with a combined seven championships and 29 All-Star appearances. That's when some other trios, and a duo, rolled off the Heat's president tongue, where clearly he'd had them teed up.
"Whatever they want to do," Riley said of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. "However we can keep those guys together, OK? However we can keep those guys together. (Larry) Bird, (Kevin) McHale, (Robert) Parish, together. (James) Worthy, (Magic) Johnson, (Kareem) Abdul-Jabbar, together. (Michael) Jordan, (Scottie) Pippen and Horace Grant or another, together..."
Fans will just have to wait which teams will win the Superstar Sweepstakes set to begin on Tuesday, July 1.
