Michael Schumacher update features the statement of medical experts and how they believe that despite "Schumi's" awakening from the medically induced coma, he will likely remain invalid for the rest of his life.

Doctors also say that he will need personal assistance on a daily basis.

The Michael Schumacher update was confirmed by Swiss neurologist Dr. Erick Reiderer, in an interview with German news website 20 Minuten.

"He will forever remain an invalid [and] always remain dependent on the help of others," Dr. Reiderer said.

Michael Schumacher was placed in a medically induced coma for six months, following an accident he was involved in while skiing at the French Alps with his 14-year old son in December 2013.

While everyone around him deemed it impossible for him to recover, the Formula One legend was able to defy all expectations when he awakened from his coma in mid-June. He was immediately transferred from Grenoble Hospital in France to a rehabilitation clinic in Lausanne, Switzerland.

While his family and fans were in high spirits amidst his recovery, medical experts have already been skeptic about him making a recovery.

"With rehabilitation, they'll try to train him to cope with the disabilities that he's got to achieve as much life function as possible," Oxford University's Dr. Tipu Aziz said about the Michael Schumacher update. "If he's had a brain injury, he may have weakness in his limbs secondary to loss of brain function."

Other medical experts have supported Dr. Aziz's claims in the most recent statements they have respectively made.

"We're told what we already know, and pretty much told not to ever expect further updates," former F1 physician Dr. Gary Harstein said in his blog on Monday. "This all leaves a very bad taste in my mouth and a huge space of sadness for Michael's family."

However, Dr. Reiderer also stated that not all hope is lost, and that there is still a small chance for Michael Schumacher's recovery.

"I enjoy being surprised, but there are hardly any cases that have [seen] recovery so completely without damage," he said.
