Jung Woo Sung, who is a baduk (Go) player in the film "The Divine Move," has not made any recent moves to get married. But the 41-year-old actor does think it should happen soon.
In an interview with Newsen, he stressed the fact that he did want to get married.
"I was thinking around my mid-40s, but it's not like I can decide on what exactly will happen," he said.
He hopes that he will marry for positive reasons rather than just being lonely.
"Everyone feels lonely at some point," he said. "However, I don't think I am that lonely. I try not to be."
What does he look for a in a woman? Inner beauty is important. And so is compatibility.
"I hope we think alike," he said. "It's not just the face that shows a person's true appeal. It can be seen in an act or the way of talking. I put more weight on that."
But he also appreciates outer beauty.
"Who says I don't seek beauty in a woman. Of course I do. I would prefer if she were pretty."
In May 2014, Sports Donga reported that Jung Woo Sung was dating a beautiful non-celebrity. It was reported that she lived abroad so she did not know he was an actor when they met. She fell for the person, not the celebrity, said the article.
But his agency, Red Brick House, denied the rumor, saying the reports were false. The actor has not dated a lot, at least not publicly.
Since his debut in the 1994 film "Nine Tailed Fox," he has only been involved in one dating scandal. While shooting the drama "Athena: Goddess of War," he dated his co-star actress Lee Ji Ah.
When they were photographed together in Paris in March 2011, he confirmed that they were dating. But Lee Ji Ah had not told him that she was previously secretly married to and had also divorced pop icon Seo Taiji. The relationship only lasted a month after Jung Woo Sung found out.
Jung Woo Sung's new film is a thriller about criminals who play a life-and-death version of high-stakes baduk. He co-stars in the film with Ahn Sung Gi, Ahn Kil Kang, Kim In Kwon, Lee Si Young and Choi Jin Hyuk.
The actor will also star in and produce the indie film "Don't Forget Me" and he has a role in "Madam Bbaengduk," a modern day retelling of a classic Korean folk tale.
