New updates from 2K Australia's new Borderlands game, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel have been revealed.

Rumors have been buzzing around that Borderlands: The Pre-sequel might be added in the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. It was recently reported that the Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will be available on October 14, 2014 in the PC, PlayStation 3 and the Xbox One.

GameReactorTV conducted an interview with Borderlands game developer Tony Lawrence hinting that Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel may get the PS4 and Xbox One treatment.

"I guess we're full on developing the PS3, 360 and PC game, and we believe in that too."

"All the Borderlands 2 players are playing on those consoles. That's the choice they've got. So we want to reward those guys. If fans say 'hey, we'd really like this on a next-gen console', well, we'll think about that, but right now we're concentrating on the consoles we know."

Borderlands franchise director Matt Armstrong added a few words regarding Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel in the PS4 and Xbox One.

"The vast majority of our fans still have their Xbox 360 [or PS3]. The other thing is it's the middle game in a trilogy. Moving it on to next-gen and requiring people to buy new hardware to play the middle entry in a trilogy feels a little disingenuous and we sort of want to respect that.

"As we said, one day maybe, I don't know. We'll think about that, see how people react to the game, how much fun they have and whether or not everyone moves on to the next gen fully next year. For now we're pretty happy with our choice and I think people are going to be to."

So far, there have been no confirmations on whether Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will be included on PS4 and Xbox One, let alone a release date.

But, gaming website Cyberland has reported that an inside source claimed that the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game is set in the summer of 2015.
