Which smartphone is the ideal purchase for consumers? We pit the Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 against the Sony Xperia E1 Dual to see which is the better choice.

In terms of display, both smartphones have 4-inch display which can render a resolution of 800 x 480pixels and 233 ppi. The Sony Xperia E1 Dual weigh 122 grams and has the following dimensions: 118 x 62.4 x 12 mm, while the Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 weighs 118 grams and it measures 121.5 x 63.1 x 10.6 mm.

For the hardware and OS, the Sony Xperia E1 Dual has a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 200 dual-core CPU and with an Adreno 302 GPU, compared to Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 that has a 1.2GHz BCM dual-core processor with Broadcom VideoCore IV graphics. The Galaxy S Duos 2 however has a 5MP camera with autofocus, LED flash, a VGA secondary camera and 720p video capture.

For otther features, both smartphones have a 3G connection, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPRS, EDGE and microUSB 2.0.

Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 is worth $152 on amazon.com while the Sony Xperia E1 Dual cost $199.
