Which tablet device is the ideal purchase for consumers? We pit the Nexus 7 against the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 to see which is better.

In terms of design and display, the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 has a Super clear LCD display that measures 10.1 inches and can render resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels, while the pixel ratio is at 299 pixels-per-inch. It weighs 469 grams and has the following dimensions: 243.1 x 171.4 x 7.3 mm.

For the hardware and OS, the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 comes with two options for processor: the first would be the Cortex A7 processor (quad core working at 1.3 GHz) and the second is the Cortex A15 (quad core that works at 1.9 GHz). Both cases have a Exynos 5 Octa 5420 chipset and it supports a 2GB of RAM with two variants of internal storage: 16GB and 32GB (by using a microSD card, you can expand this memory by up to 64GB). Samsung tablet runs on the Android KitKat.

Meanwhile, the Nexus 7's processor is a Krait (quad core working at 1.5 GHz) that is paired up with the Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset from Qualcomm. As for RAM and internal memory, it has the same options as its competitor: Pro 10.1: 2GB of RAM, and two variants of internal storage space: 16GB and 32GB. The only difference between the two is that the Nexus 7 does not feature a microSD card slot. It also runs on the Android KitKat.

For the battery usage and camera specs, the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 has a more powerful battery than the Google's Nexus 7. The tablet has a Pro 10.1 houses a Li-Ion with a capacity of 8220 mAh battery that is estimated to last around 10 hours of multimedia play, while the Nexus 7 is equipped with a Li-Ion 3950 mAh battery unit that can last 9 hours of multimedia play. Both batteries are non-removable.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 sports an 8MP rear-facing camera with features like: geo-tagging, video calling, autofocus, panorama, LED flash and digital zoom, while the front-facing camera is at 2MP.

The Nexus 7 has a 5MP main camera with features like autofocus, while the secondary camera has 1.2MP.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 (16 GB) is around $397.99, while the Google Nexus 7 (16 GB) cost $205.96.
