Floyd Mayweather news features the top pound-for-pound king of boxing and his intent to promote mixed martial arts fights as well.
"Money" spoke with Fight Hub TV during the pre-fight press tour for his rematch against Marcos Maidana on September 13th.
He touched on the subject about Ronda Rousey, whom UFC President Dana White boldly declared, "could beat up and hurt Floyd Mayweather badly" in a street fight.
"I don't even know who he is," Mayweather said in a previous interview.
But after the ESPYS Awards on Thursday, Floyd Mayweather finally knew who the "Rowdy" was, and also opened the idea of promoting mixed martial arts fights as well for Mayweather Promotions.
"I apologize because I didn't know," he said about the Floyd Mayweather news. "I'm used to watching football and basketball. I'm not really into boxing like that. But when they say 'Floyd, you need to check out a fighter, you need to scout a fighter,' I say 'well, let me see him,' I'll say 'we need to sign him.'"
Mayweather Promotions is currently working with boxers, exclusively. Its most notable fighters to date are middleweight contender J'Leon Love and light middleweight Ishe Smith.
But Floyd Mayweather news also reveals that the promotion company is also looking to transcend to mixed martial arts.
"Mayweather Promotions, we are the past, the present, and the future of sports and entertainment," Mayweather said. "And yes, we will get involved with other contact sports in the future."
As previously declared in the aforementioned interview, the top pound-for-pound boxer is not a regular viewer of prizefighting. He did, however, admit to watching rival Manny Pacquiao when he fought Timothy Bradley in April.
"Pacman" did win via a convincing unanimous decision, but "Money" remains unimpressed.
"Did I watch it? Absolutely," Mayweather said. "Was I impressed? No. Looked like an amateur."
