An Ex-Destiny's Child singer was arrested in South Carolina early Sunday morning, said a TMZ report. Farrah Franklin, who was part of the successful R&B girl group back in 2000, was ticketed for disorderly conduct. Sources also claim that alcohol was definitely involved in the incident.

The ex-Destiny's Child singer was arrested and taken to the Horry County Detention Center in Conway around 5AM. Farrah Franklin was released later that day on bond.

However, no further details have been reported regarding what led to the arrest of Farrah Franklin. The ex-Destiny's Child singer was arrested just hours after she posted a seemingly happy picture of herself in a beach in a social networking site.

Prior to the incident last Sunday, a Daily Star report said the ex-Destiny's Child singer was arrested for the same charge in Culver City, California back in 2011. In her defense, Farrah Franklin claimed that she was then a victim of racial profiling and was "manhandled".

A Daily Star report also said that Franklin had tried to defend herself after news of her Sunday arrest went public. Through her Instagram account, Franklin posted an image, reading: "To be great, you have to be willing to be mocked, hard and misunderstood. Stay strong."

Franklin also added: "I'm good just hate the dumb media sometimes, but hey this is the job I signed up for. So I respect it #TurnDownForWhat #TeamFARRAH #GodsChild."

According to a report from MTV, Franklin joined Destiny's Child in 1999 to be part of the R&B group with Beyonce Knowles, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams. Franklin replaced former group members LaTavia Roberson and LeToya Luckett, and was part of the music videos for Destiny's Child's hits "Say My Name" and "Jumpin' Jumpin'".

However, Franklin was only part of Destiny's Child for 5 months. She was reportedly fired for not showing up for a promotional tour.

Matthew Knowles, former manager of Destiny's Child and Beyonce's father, said: "The bottom line is that Farrah didn't show up for work. I don't care where you work, whether it's a production line or whatever, if you don't show up, you're going to get fired".

Franklin has also dabbed in acting, playing roles in movies such as "Single Black Female" (2009) and "The Preacher's Family" (2011).
