iPhone 6 has yet to be released, but Apple fans are already starting to talk about the iPhone 7 release date and specs.

New reports have surfaced calling the next iPhone "iPhone Air." According to Macworld, "There have been rumours to suggest that Apple is working on a 5.5in iPhone for release in 2014, but recent reports say it might be delayed until 2015, so it could actually be the iPhone 7 after all."

The iPhone 7 is expected to have a screen size of at least 4.7in, the same size the iPhone 6 screen is speculated to have. It will feature a significant upgrade on its front and back cameras, an A9 processor, iOS 9, and the TouchID, face recognition and wireless charging features.

However, the design of the new smartphone might not have a significant difference from that of the iPhone 6. Macworld explains:

"What you shouldn't expect, though, is a design that's different from the iPhone 6. Apple usually keeps the same design for two generations of the iPhone, so the new, slimmer, lighter and rounder design of the iPhone 6 is expected to carry over to the iPhone 7, too."

"However, if Apple does decide to go for a new design for the iPhone 7, we actually think it could be thicker than the iPhone 6, with what Apple calls 'sidewall displays.'"

"Apple has published a patent relating to such displays, which hints at a future iPhone with a display that extends onto the sides of the device, providing interactive or touch sensitive portions that give access to the slide to unlock functionality, music player controls, messaging readout, caller ID, system controls and more."

The iPhone 7 is speculated to be released by September 2015. But, other experts argue that a June WWDC 2015 launch might also be feasible.
