Sherri Shepherd Latest News: The View's soon-to-be former co-host is rumoured to be sued if she abandons her unborn child. According to TMZ, Lamar Sally, 43, is already drafting papers to prevent Shepherd from "backing out of the surrogate contract she signed while they were still a couple." Shepherd's estranged husband doesn't want her to walk away from her involvement and responsibility with the child, who is anticipated to be born via surrogate later this month. Reportedly, the baby was formed through the union of a donated egg and Sally's sperm.

Classicalite reported that multiple sources connected with the couple said that "Shepherd does not want anything to do with her unborn surrogate baby...because she believes her estranged husband defrauded her into having the kid in the first place so he could get child support. The baby was conceived with Lamar's sperm, but NOT Sherri's egg...Sherri wants a judge to rule she has no parental rights or responsibilities--which would shut the door to child support."

According to Page Six, after three years of marriage Sally filed for divorce on May 2 demanding for the custody of the child which will cause Shepherd to for pay child support. Reportedly, Sally also requires spousal support and their prenup invalidated.

Days later, Shepherd filed her own divorce papers.

TMZ noted that Shepherd filed for divorce in New Jersey and Sally did it in California. Reportedly, New Jersey courts generally do not acknowledge surrogacy agreements, which mean Sally would probably be shut down; however that is not the case in California.

Shepherd reportedly points to irreconcilable differences as the reason for their divorce. According to Aces Showbiz, the comedienne reportedly did not mention the child in her filings, but she said she wanted their prenup agreement to be "enforced." According to the prenup, Sally will only receive $60,000 if the marriage lasts two to five years.

While having divorce wars with her current husband, the TV host is also facing another custody battle for her 9-year-old son from a previous marriage.
