The popular musician is the newest star to be added to "The Giver" cast. The film's original cast included Meryl Streep, Jeff Bridges, Brenton Thwaites, and Katie Holmes. True Blood's Alexander Skarsgard, Odeya Rush of "The Odd Life of Timothy Green", and "Shameless" star, Cameron Monaghan, completes the cast of the film, as well.
Taylor Swift The Giver film adaptation was originally a young adult novel written by Lois Lowry. Thwaites played the role of a little boy who was out to perform life service as The Receiver of Memories. The Giver, played by Bridges, was an old man who guided this little boy as to how to best use his sensory abilities.
Streep took on the role of Chief Elder, who was responsible for giving young children their tasks. The film adaptation portrayed a society in which there is no place for sickness, conflict and racism.
Salt's Phil Noyce directed the movie adaptation of the novel. Michael Mitnick took credit on the screenplay of the film.
Walden Media co-financed and produced the film with TWC. The producers of the film included Bridges, Nikki Silver and Neil Konigsberg. On the other hand, Ralph Winter Scooter Braun and Alison Owen co-executive produced the film.
