Floyd Mayweather news features Mayweather Promotions getting its license to promote fights in Nevada, while "Money" is not worried about going against rival promoters.

In a report by Yahoo! Sports, Mayweather Promotions is now licensed to promote both in New York and in Nevada, two of the world's major boxing states.

"Money" will be facing Marcos "El Chino" Maidana on September 13th in Las Vegas, a rematch of their first fight, which took place in May. And for the current top pound-for-pound boxer in the world, the licensing of his promotion company could not have come in a better time.

"We didn't want to rush and we wanted to do it when the time was right," he said about the Floyd Mayweather news. "That time is now."

Floyd Mayweather news also reveals "Money's" warm welcome of the challenges that go with being a fight promoter. Currently, he has 12 fighters (including himself) competing at six different weight classes.

His most notable names today are middleweight contender J'Leon Love and light middleweight contender Ishe Smith.

"It takes a talented fighter and a God-gifted fighter," to be a star, Mayweather said. "But the outlets are different now for building a fighter at a high level. Before, it was different with Bob Arum and Don King."

"This is a new era of promoters and as I've said before, Mayweather Promotions, we are the best and we are the past, the present and the future of sports entertainment," he added.

In today's boxing scene, two boxing promotion companies are recognized all over the world: Bob Arum's Top Rank Promotions who has the likes of Manny Pacquiao, Miguel Cotto, and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. on its stable; and Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions, who has the likes of Canelo Alvarez, Marcos Maidana and Danny Garcia under contract.

But for Floyd Mayweather Jr., going against the competitive landscape is not a problem.

"My team has done a marvelous job and I truly believe if we work hand-in-hand as we have been, we'll do record numbers in the future," Mayweather proudly said.
