Earlier this week, multiple sources confirmed that the Star Trek Into Darkness star was pregnant, but now there's even more exciting news—Zoe Saldana is expecting twins!
According to E! News, a number of sources have confirmed that Saldana, 36, is soon to be a mom to not just one, but two bundles of joy with husband Marco Perego. So how is Saldana reacting to the news that she'll be carrying two babies at the same time? An insider told the website: "She's thrilled!"
The actress and her Italian artist husband have been married for a year and are reportedly planning to have a "big family." The two got together last year, shortly after she called it quits with Bradley Cooper. Months later, they exchanged wedding vows.
Saldana recently graced the cover of Marie Claire magazine for their August issue, and explained why she settled so quickly with her Perego.
"I don't do the ABCs," she said. "I do what my heart says, what my heart feels. So from the moment I met my husband, we were together. We knew."
She also said that her past relationships have taught her "not to settle."
She said, "If you're not happy with a person, leave." She also added, "And wait until you find that one person who makes you feel good about yourself every single day and is not expecting you to change, but to grow."
The Guardians of the Galaxy star is reported to be three months pregnant, and speculations that she was expecting arose when she showed up to a number of red carpet events with what looked to be a pregnant belly.
But US Weekly reports that the actress will "only announce the news when she's ready," according to a source.
In any case, Saldana has her work cut out for her with two babies on the way. Especially because she's such an in-demand actress-she's a leading lady to three movie franchises! The actress has signed up for three Avatar sequels, and although she doesn't have a script yet, James Cameron, the movie's director has told her "it'll be about an overall spiritual journey," she was quoted as saying in Hollywood Reporter's August 1 issue.
There's also the third Star Trek film coming up, and it looks like they're already ironing out the cast's schedules. "All I know is that the producers of Trek 3 called the producers of Avatar 2 to find out when Avatar will finish shooting," Saldana says. Both movies are set to start filming in 2015.
